The Calvary volleyball team finished second in their own tournament, losing to Quentin Road in the finals 21-16, 18-21, 15-7. Calvary made their way to the finals by finishing pool play first in their pool with a 5-1 record. (They split their two games this morning with Southside to complete the pool round.) This earned them a place in the semifinals, where they faced Grace. Grace played this game under a cloud, as a member of their team got news of the loss of her mother. After some discussion, the remainder of the team decided to go ahead with their games. Calvary prevailed, however, 21-19, 21-18. Heritage beat Grace in the third place game.
Emily Eizenga and Ally Rohn were named to the all tournament team.
Next games are against Christian Liberty Academy at Lake Hills on Tuesday. Junior High "A" kicks things off at 4:00. See you there.
